Flexibility allows for a greater range of movement as well as prevention of injuries. During the practice session, preventing injury is of utmost importance. Being flexible brings relief in cases where increased   running caused strain or pain in muscles and ligaments. After that, cooling down the body with specific exercises causes recovery.

Lack of flexibility in soccer coaching can affect many areas of fitness. Using flexibility, you can build a lot of power by increasing the movement. Flexibility also leads to increase in speed. If you are quick with hip, knee, and ankle joints, this will greatly affect your ability to increase your pace during high speed running.

So here the difficult part for you is to ensure that kids don’t get bored practicing the same drills day in and day out. Given below are certain tricks that’ll allow you to execute practice sessions in a disciplined, expected, and an attractive way.

The simplest method in soccer practice to explain the game is that no rules apply. You are free to test new drills, come up with innovative ideas to create drills and so on. In order to help you out in executing a useful soccer training plan, here are some tips.

Make flexible plans. It is quite natural that all your plans may not work out as desired. It may rain, the kids may not turn up, or you may get sick. So be ready to face these situations with full force since they have the capacity to ruin your plans.

It is a good idea to have several soccer practice games ready. There would be few that prove to be useless and therefore get rid of them to go to next. Be a part of the training and you can easily make out things that are best for the kids.

Tell the kids to warm up ahead of every session. Apart from the regular drills that warm up the body, make them use the soccer ball as well. Introduce some nice exercises such as an interesting game called Fetch. It’s a game wherein the coach begins with throwing the ball to the player and gets it in return by the player using one or both the feet.

In soccer coaching, after the individual activities, it is time for group activities. In order to practice, passing and receiving are excellent drills. In group activities, it’s imperative for the kids to show some team spirit. As a rule, kids naturally take good amount of time from moving on to group from individual and thus adjusting to the notion of team play. You‘ve got be the guiding light here for the team. Lay emphasis on supporting each other in team for winning matches.

Also, weak players must be properly guided in order to be teamed up. These activities can be used to cheer a feeling of belongingness in the team.

Soccer should be played in teams between the kids and with no a goalie. Have them hit the goals and do not set boundaries for this game. In addition, tell them to first attack and then defend. This allows them leverage in developing their own style.

What if I told you that coaches do make such mistakes in kids soccer drills that have the potential to destroy a team and make it a loser. Yes, it is true. Lot of people must be busy finding out the big reason responsible for a team’s such great downfall. Well, let it be known that there are many.

When it comes to soccer drills for kids, you have to be very careful and strategic. You need to understand the psychology of the kids. Exchange words with them discussing things from their point of view. But unluckily, nearly all coaches are not experienced in this. They fail to realize that there is a distinction in coaching kids and coaching grown-up players.

So there you have it; top faults of coaches that bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track.

1. Many coaches take their jobs for granted. They do not plan the sessions, prepare the drills, or bother about reaching the field in time. Activities like these not merely put off the kids but are also terrible. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Plan the youth soccer drills in advance. Put together all kinds of equipments which you would need to accomplish the drills.

Always be prompt. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. Actually, be there when the kids get there. What you get here is the additional time to run through the drills or plan out things.

2. Before the sessions, when the coaches impart instructions for kids soccer drills, they get so lost in it so as to loose track of the time. Can you anticipate how boring that can get? Know that kids come to the field to play and not listen to boring speeches. Keep the lecture short and sweet. These sessions should be used to boost the confidence of the kids as well as motivate them.

It is crucial that you do not interrupt the kids when they are playing. If you have noted anything wrong, share it after the drill has ended. Also, you should be outside the field when the kids are enjoying the game.

3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, both the characters can prove disastrous. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is imperative that the kids will make mistakes. Do not forget that they are children. There is no need to get sensitive about it and be rude to the players.

If you do, understand that you not only make the kids lose interest in the sport but also invite disciplinary action. Soccer is a game of the mind. Make the kids realize this and you would have motivated them.
